Escuela Bolivia Emerging Leaders Program looking for MENTORS

Escuela Bolivia is a non-profit organization founded by Bolivian parents and educators to address educational needs of the growing Latino population. We are very excited to announce our Summer 2009 Emerging Leaders Program. The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is a college preparation program for Latino high school students through the help, support and guidance of a professional Latino. Through this program, students develop communication and leadership skills, take field trips to universities, and are paired with mentors to discuss college and career options. Students also have the opportunity to win scholarships utilizing all the skills they have acquired.

We are looking for professional Latinos, both males and females, who would be interested in mentoring our program participants through their journey  and transition into higher education. ELP hopes to serve 30-40 students in both programs located in Washington, DC and Arlington, VA. While the dates of the program differ in each location, mentors are required to attend 4-5 mandatory sessions dealing with topics such as
**Essay writing
**Financial aid and scholarship search
**Cultural Identity, and more!

If you or someone you know are interested in working with us and a group of AMAZING students, please contact me via e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information.

And if you are interested in becoming a facilitator, we have openings for both locations with a stipend of $500 for the summer term. Inquire for job description and further informaton.

Please pass on to your friends, colleagues and networks.

Thank you,

--
